Make the town your first destination
Start your Onancock stay with the town itself. Settle into your accommodation, find the entrance you will use when returning at night and choose a first meal that fits your arrival. Save the larger Eastern Shore outings for a day when you can give them proper time.
The town visitor guide is a useful orientation to Market Street, the wharf and local cultural stops. Download its walking information before setting out. A first look is more enjoyable without luggage or a string of timed reservations.
Give Saturday a garden and a table
Arrange the morning around Ker Place, checking museum access for your date. Allow time for the grounds as well as the house. If the market is part of your plan, check its current venue and hours before fixing the order of the morning.
Choose lunch after deciding whether you want a quick pause or a longer meal. Leave the afternoon open for a gallery, shop or wharf visit. You can have a satisfying town day without adding a boat excursion.
Choose a different pace on Sunday
For another town morning, follow the garden and tree-walk notes, with a café stop when it suits. For a longer outing, select one destination from our day-trip comparison and confirm its opening and the full return journey.

Keep the plan small enough to enjoy
Before departure, ask each person for one priority. Give those choices a place in the plan, then leave everything else optional. A garden, a museum and a long lunch can be a full day when the point is to enjoy them.
